Look, I get that Twitter can get overloaded with emotionally exhausting news of the day but the storm in a teapot (tongue in cheek or not) kicked off by a NYT food article seems like a bit much.
I think I just happened to catch two actual friends riffing on it or I would have missed it. My reaction was more to what I saw when search for guacamole and peas on Twitter and realizing it was this whole big thing.
Next up habaneros and mints!
I just googled it myself. Peas in guac is nothing new. Adding peas to guac makes it lower fat.

I won’t argue with that, I’m just saying the peas in guac thing has been around forever. I have diet cookbooks from the 90s that have.

Haven’t paid that much attention, just saw a local food writer or I’d be ignorant. But being from the Southwest I figure I am allowed an opinion 🙂
