I know I’ve been fortunate in my loved ones and my job this past year, and I am grateful. In bad times, I’m grateful for the distractable nature of humans, which allow me to lift my spirits a little just by a focus on the sky, or a tree, embodiment (as in taking a walk and how that feels), something pretty. That might not help someone with clinical depression, but the world helps me not dwell in negativity and bad self-talk.
