I find it interesting that the BBC phrased it as Google “abandon[ing] older browsers” — as if they’re talking about soldiers leaving behind injured comrades or the like — rather than the reality that Google is discontinuing support for browsers hearkening back to 2006 (IE7) and 2007 (Safari 3).
(The one exception that might almost justify their original headline is Firefox 3.5 — that one only came out two years ago, in 2009.)
