EFF shares a nice update to their already well researched guide to privacy issues with some of the more popular e-book readers/platforms. At a glance, it is much clearer where each stands on a relevant issue. Also they’ve add a fair bit more information to unpack the more complex points.
I hope a future update considers some of the more recent contenders. Given their commitment to this guide as a living document, I hope it will have some impact on newer entrants into the space. I really think that issues like stronger privacy protection along with more closely following consumer wishes in terms of time and space shifting is the key to competition, not more kowtowing to the increasing control of big content.
