Spain Considering Law to Take Down File Sharing Sites

TorrentFreak explains the Sustainable Economy Law and how it may close loop holes that have allowed file sharing sites. This appears to be a clarification to early stories about Spain contemplating disconnection, what most of us interpreted to mean three strikes. Disconnection here instead appears to be targeting distributors. This is still vexing considering Spain’s otherwise liberal stance towards copying and sharing, which I noted earlier.

Cory notes the first response to this proposed law. The manifesto they issued seems to include the most pressing objects to copyright maximalism and the overreach via filtering and disconnection.
