This is news cast 119.
I am back from my North Carolina trip and chat up the talk given by Bob Young that I attended while there. Also, I sat in on Kulture Kast episode 23, which I forgot to mention in the audio. Kulture Kast is not safe for work but it is a heck of a lot of fund and the hosts, SusanZ and Biscuit, are dear friends.
Unrelated to my travels, I also discuss my experiences with Leopard so far.
There was also a great deal of listener feedback to catch up on, voice mails from C.A. Sizemore and Will the Computer Guy and email from Jonathan Irving.
This week’s security alerts include problems with Leopard’s firewall though manual setup of ipfw can apparently mitigate most of these and incompletness with new security features.
In this week’s news, new high density memory research, calling for a presidential debate on science, a new visual command line tool was demonstrated at FOSScamp, and the first real federal standards of e-voting machines.
Following up this week, just that Monsoon has settled with the Software Freedom Law Center out of court.
