Microsoft BrowserShield

All I can think about while reading up this is the turtle in “Goedel, Escher, Bach” trying to construct a record player which cannot be broken by the act of playing sounds engineered to break record players. Seriously, if they could competently build a tool capable of detecting and thwarting malware and other attacks, wouldn’t they have done so, already? In order to determine what some piece of malicious JavaScript does, don’t they have to interpret it? If they could do so safely, why wouldn’t they just use that hardened interpreter directly in their browser?!
