Well, it was Maciej Ceglowski in his Audioblogging Manifesto, who contended that audio content was not indexable and searchable. To be fair, at the time he wrote the piece, this may have been more true.

However, the question I was exploring was why audio versus text? Jon Gruber only writes, he doesn’t podcast, and yet he is still one of my favorites. I’ve just been trying to think through what makes the act of recording audio different, at least for me, enough from writing for it to be a worthwhile endeavor in its own right.
