This is a feature cast.
I spend more time than intended discussing the exchange between Ursula K. Le Guin and Cory Doctorow over a piece of micro fiction she sent to the fanzine, Ansible. I misspoke in the episode and identified the periodical in question as Slate. I blame the pre-show pumpkin ale. Cory links to Miss Le Guin’s open letter and her is the first I saw of it, a posting on Jerry Pournelle’s site. I think that last, personally, was just gas on a candle flame.
No hacker word of the week due to the length of the interview.
The feature this week is an interview with Lauren Weinstein, a veteran activist and technologist, in which we discuss his recent thoughts on advancing the discussion of network neutrality.

This episode is a feature cast.
Just a reminder that BaltiCon 41 is coming up (May 25-28), so if you have not already, you should be making your travel arrangements now.
The Hacker Word of the Week is cat.
The feature this week is the second half of an interview I recorded with Dick Hardt founder and CEO of identity services company, Sxip. In this half, we discuss how identity services are being adopted in a variety of spaces, the state of Sxipper, the free Firefox extension made by Sxip, and it’s future features, as well as services that Sxip is looking into rolling out in the future including disposable email address, disposable postal address, and possibly disposable credit card numbers.

In case you hadn’t heard elsewhere, Joe Murphy left us this past Sunday. I was recording at the time but found out right after finishing Sunday’s show. The fabulous folks responsible for the Joe Murphy Memorial Fund put together a heartfelt and touching bit of audio. Thanks to George Hrab for the underlying music.
Godspeed, Mason Rocket!
