MPAA Bit Torrent Entrapment

I have never endorsed whole sale piracy. But I do believe there are substantial non-infringing uses of p2p technologies. I am continually frustrated by actions like these showing the lengths the entertainment industry will go to shore up and protect their business models from disruptive innovate. If you read the linked article, I think the apparent facts speak pretty much for themselves.

While the MPAA’s actions may be legally tenable and even follow the common sense arguments that make this particular discussion so difficult, I cannot see how this sort of blatant action is constructive. It would be like the MPAA distributing Betamax tapes packed with thermite to destroy consumers’ players before the Betamax ruling.

And they call us pirates?
