Blue Security Turns Hacktivist

Superficially, this seems like an exciting move. Experience, however, makes me a bit more circumspect. We already have many tools, like the EFF action center and others, that do something similar. And the existing tools are pretty well rooted in context, with surrounding material and links to help foster a deeper appreciation of the issues. I have not tried Collactive, but I am concerned that it may raise the noise-to-signal ratio. I think it could be genuinely helpful, up to a point, but I am not so sure, after that. I suppose we’ll find out shortly, since the Wired piece identifies at least two initiatives using the platform.
