The Command Line #75 – Listener Comment Line 360-252-7284

This week in the intro, a review of Rudy Rucker’s The Lifebox, The Seashell and The Soul. Also, a discussion of getting Little Big Adventure, or Relentless, running under DOS emulation on a Mac. And lastly, I will be interviewing Cory Doctorow on December 6th, so get your questions in to me before then.

Security alerts this week include an exploit of password autofill features in Firefox and IE, a critical OS X kernel bug made worse by Safari’s default settings, and a warning about what malware may yet be coming for OS X.

The Hacker Word of the Week this week is big-endian.

In the news, the as yet unsolved problem of digital archiving, London police donning crime cameras, plausible speculation about a Google OS, and implausible paper based data storage.

This week I also follow up on yet more Microsoft, Novell deal coverage and the result of consideration for DMCA exemptions.

The feature is a monologue on being thankful for Open Source.
