On his blog, Bruce Schneier links to a scarey, potential outcome of regulating liability for software. How many of us are familiar with lazy and/or incompetent programmers gaming metrics like lines of code? For that reason, this scenario is actually pretty convincing and give pause when considering truly effective ways to use liability to ensure higher quality throughout the industry.
